The Tola Andu Foundation:

July’s Charitable Donation Recipient

July’s charitable donation goes to…

The Tola Andu Foundation is a London-based non-profit organization that promotes autism awareness and acceptance within the African community, and provides in-home assistance and services to SEN (Special Education Needs) children throughout the UK and Nigeria. TAF provides support to families with SEN children by helping them access necessary resources and public assistance.

Tola’s commitment to advocating for SEN children was born out of her own personal experiences with raising her son, Kevin, who was born on the autism spectrum. His diagnosis raised a lot of questions and posed many challenges but instead of backing down, Tola not only rose the occasion and fought for the answers and support Kevin needed but also decided to utilize her newfound expertise to help other families just like hers.

Kevin’s journey is one that I’ve been following for a while now, even before Clarke’s Creations. I’ve watched the Andus and always admired how much genuine love, support and encouragement they all consistently pour out over Kevin. Despite the ups and downs, I’ve witnessed him grow and not just survive but THRIVE: At 20, Kevin excels at his job while balancing his Catering and Hospitality courseload as a college student, and by God’s grace, is on track to having the skills necessary to live independently. When he’s off the clock, he enjoys getting into mischief with his younger brother, Kaiden and his sister, Kayla, making sure he gets his daily 10k steps in, and monitoring “Bobo”, his dad, to make sure he gets home on time from work! All along the way Tola guides him, providing him with crucial life lessons and most importantly, a mother’s love that knows no bounds.

I say all of this to say: I truly applaud Tola and her family for the immense love and support they shower onto Kevin daily. The genuine love, care and authenticity is palpable; God knows, not every child on the spectrum is fortunate enough to get that kind of attention. Which is why I also praise Tola and her non-profit organization, The Tola Andu Foundation, for working to help bridge that gap and provide assistance and necessary relief services to other SEN children like Kevin, and for advocating for autism awareness. It may not have been much, but it brought me great joy to donate to their 10K fundraiser. I pray that the Lord keeps His almighty hand on the Andus, and that He continues to provide Tola and TAF with the strength, wisdom and resources needed to be a steward of autistic children and their families.

May God bless you. 🫶🏾
